The supreme discipline of the competition is the Großglockner ULTRA-TRAIL with 110 kilometers and 6,500 vertical meters, The run is one of the most demanding, but also the most scenic ultra trails in the Alps. The route in the Hohe Tauern National Park largely follows the so-called "Glockner Circuit" - the circumnavigation of Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner (3,798 m). The start and finish of the ultras are located in Kaprun / Pinzgau region in the province of Salzburg. Due to the technically very demanding terrain, strong mental and physical resilience is required. The 110 kilometers can be completed both alone and in a two-leg relay with change in Kals.

In order to do justice to the friends of shorter distances, the GGUT offers three more routes and a total of five competitions:

- Grossglockner Ultra Trail GGUT 110: 110 kilometers, 6,500 vertical meters.

- Grossglockner Ultra-Trail GGUT 110 | 2: 110 kilometers, 6,500 vertical meters as a 2-series; Change in Kals.

Hubert Resch, founder and chairman of the organizational team:

"The Großglockner ULTRA-TRAIL has secured a firm place in the running calendar of professionals and amateur athletes. The scenery is simply beautiful. We are framed by 300 peaks over 3000 meters. The route is varied and sometimes technically very demanding. With our five different distances, we can meet athletes with different needs and performance levels. Last year, the magic limit of 15 hours at the 110 was clearly undercut. The bar is so high and we can all be curious what the 5th Großglockner ULTRA-TRAIL has to offer. "
