The Mont-Blanc Marathon, the Roller Coaster in the heart of the European mountains offers the best scenery on the majestic MONT BLANC The Mont-Blanc Marathon is both in the Golden Trail World Series and the Golden Trail National Series France/Belgium in 2019

The Mont Blanc Marathon is a trail event with 8 races. Several courses are offered to riders from all over the world to participate with family or friends. More than 10,500 runners from 80 different nationalities will have the joy of taking away from Chamonix to travel the trails of the Valley. The Mont Blanc Marathon races are organized by the Chamonix Sports Club Association. Under the name Marathon du Mont-Blanc 8 races are organized: 90km from Mont Blanc, 42km from Mont-Blanc, 23km from Mont-Blanc, KM Vertical from Mont-Blanc, Starry Duet, Young Race Marathon, 10km from Mont-Blanc White and Mini cross of Mont Blanc (800m to 3km reserved for children according to their age categories). During 4 days, the Chamo-nix Valley will vibrate to the rhythm of the races, 40 000 people will be present on Chamonix to attend or participate in this event, and everything is done to welcome the runners, the accom-pagnants and the spectators in the best conditions. The event has become considerable in a few years, so our organization is associative (non-profit) and relies on volunteers and the will of local communities. Faced with the craze, we must organize to improve the well-being and safety of all, with races taking place in the mountains in a sometimes difficult environment (especially the 90 km of Mont Blanc), runners must be aware of this particularity and prepare properly. Each rider will be able to find a race adapted to his level of practice which allows him to discover this unique environment that is the Valley of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.

With the sheer white heights of the Mont Blanc massif as its sensational backdrop, the Chamonix Valley shows the Alps at their most dramatic. First ‘discovered’ as a tourist destination by Brits William Windham and Richard Pococke in 1741, it has become a wintertime playground of epic proportions, more than satisfying the most demanding skiers as well as the après-ski revellers who pack themselves into its boot-stompin’ bars. In summer, lift-accessible highland trails offer thrilling panoramas to hikers, mountain bikers and other high-altitude thrill seekers. With that being said, the Marathon du Mont Blanc is the place to be. The Marathon du Mont Blanc is an annual marathon distance (42.195 km) alpine trail-running event held in Chamonix, France. You run on a path through a botanical garden between Tré le Champ and the Col des Montets. All along it, there are some information about the most outstanding flowers you will find. At the top of the Col des Montets, behind the information cabin, you may see some ibex. While running from the Aiguillette des Posettes to the Col des Montets, you also cross the AIguille Rouge Nature Reserve. Some chamois and wild board live in this area. In the place known as "Les Ardoisières" there are some eagles. Don't look at the sky but keep focused on the race !
