Snowdon International Race 2019

Fourth race in Mountain Running World Cup 2019

July 20th, WALES, Llanberis | Great Britain

15,5km (995 m+ and 995 m-)

Everything has been seen at Snowdonia Park. The 4th stage of the Mountain Running World Cup 2019 has been described by a perfectly Welsh weather that caused fears of not being able to reach the summit of the Snowdon, then after the storm the sun came out and it was raised the curtain on a race that as usual did not disappoint for show and intensity.

Scotsman Andy Douglas won the Men’s Race in the Snowdon International Race with Italian twins Martin and Bernard Dematteis close behind.

His time of one hour and four minutes was outside the record for the race which officials had hoped would be broken this year.

The first Welshman to complete the ten-mile run from Llanberis to the summit of Wales' highest mountain and down again was Mark Hopkinson of the Cymru A team.

Irish runner Sarah McCormack was the Women’s Race winner in what officials believed was the second fastest ever time for a female runner.

Sarah McCormackMcCormack and Elisa Sortini have gone past numerous times and have solved the issue in the last few kilometers; at the finish line they are separated by about twenty seconds
